摘要

Reverse engineering develops a new product based on the improvement of existing products. Shape recovery of three-dimensional objects is the basis of reverse engineering. 3D digitization technology is an important tool for the shape recovery. Different techniques for 3D data acquisition are discussed in this paper. Hardware and software of 3D data scanning are described. 3D laser scanner and its applications are emphasized.
