Structure as Behavior: Exploring Elements of the System Dynamics Modeling Process

This paper explores the implications of considering the structure of the system as changingover time. Following the tradition of system dynamics and deeply believing that “the structure conditionsthe behavior,” this paper makes the case for the analysis of the dynamics of the structure and itsimplications. In addition, the questions of what structure is and what behavior is, in system dynamics, areexplored.
