摘要

Much of the equipment used by Aerospace companies to develop Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) Special Test Systems (STS) consists of rack components purchased from various hardware and software vendors. Due to the nature of the acquisitions, these various components are purchased without an existing system framework. Therefore these components are then generally integrated into an STS using custom software developed from scratch with little or no potential reuse. If Aerospace organizations were to adopt a proven model of STS component software development to take advantage of faster development and integration, component reuse at the binary level, and a software bus-based framework they would be able to shorten the software development and integration schedules and improve on their ability to reuse and leverage software components on future systems. The model presented in this paper allows organizations to develop software components using the factory-style distribution and bus-based integration methods, which have been widely used throughout the hardware industry for years to reduce development and integration costs, program risk and schedules.
