The effect of anti-irritants on the skin irritation inducing by captopril and penetration capability of captopril from gel was investigated. The results showed that diphenhydramine and clobetasol had potent inhibition irritation activity. The experimental formulations possessed appropriate penetration rate and acceptable irritation which could possibly be developed for a transdermal drug delivery system.
