It is feasible to deliver PEGylated antibody fragments (Fab) against VEGF by sustained release delivery systems which include PLGA microspheres and PLAD. Optimization work is required to reduce the initial release and aggregation for the PLGA microspheres. Animal studies are required to evaluate the vivo efficacy of administering the PEGylated Fab using these delivery systems.
