The Development and Demonstration of a Probabilistic Diagnostic and Prognostic System (ProDAPS) for Gas Turbines

Smiths Aerospace, Electronic Systems, has beenengaged by the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)on a dual-use science and technology program to develop aprobabilistic diagnostic and prognostic system (ProDAPS)for engine health management. This paper introduces thecomponents of ProDAPS and the rationale for the adoptedapproach, along with some preliminary results and futuredirections.
