摘要

This study gives development of visualized technique using Three-Dimensional GIS(Geographic Information System) for understanding geological structure and earthquakeshaking intensity. The paper consists of three parts. Firstly, relation among geologicalcondition, simulated ground shaking intensity and damage to buildings and buried waterpipelines by the 1995 Hyogoken-Nanbu earthquake (magnitude M = 7.3) is presented as anexample of Nishinomiya City, Japan. Secondly, three-dimensional GIS technique forunderstanding geological condition is developed by using Triangulated Irregular Network(TIN) and Buffering techniques based on boring data. Finally, a "real time Seismic DisasterInformation System (SDI System)" of Hiroshima City and the observed seismic records fromthe 2001 Geiyo earthquake (magnitude M = 6.7) are introduced.
