The functional interphase which has high fracture toughness was created in the glass woven fabricreinforced vinylester composites, and the crack propagation behaviors in tensile test and mode Iinterlamina fracture toughness test were investigated. The transverse crack was observed at higherstrain in the composite with functional interphase than in the ordinal composite, and it would berelated to the tensile property which improved in the composite with functional interphase. In mode Iinterlamina fracture toughness test, the fracture toughness increased as a function of the treatmentcondition corresponding to the thickness of interphase. From FT-IR analysis on the fracture surface,it is confirmed that the crack propagated into the area where the high fracture toughness resin forinterphase were generated.
