Engineering database is applied to store, manage and access information in engineering design process. Various types of engineering databases are currently in use and distributed in enterprise environments. These information resources can't easily access effectively for many users because of different platforms, data models and query languages. That forms a severe bottleneck for the CAD system and becomes an important problem which has not been fully explored. In this paper, a query processing system based on CORBA in engineering database is presented to solve this problem. At first, the system's architecture uses innovative technologies, CORBA and JDBC, is provided. Then the system's three_level data model and how to implement global schema integration are described. Finally, the detailed descriptions of query decomposition method are given.
