The new Munich high-flux reactor FRM-II offers the possibility to install a unique source for ultracold neutrons (UCN), the Mini-D_2 UCNsource, with a small volume of solid deuterium at a temperature of 5 K as coverter, exposed to the cold neutron flux. This new source, being dedicated for storage experiments, is de-signed to be much superior to any existing UCN facility.
