Changes in texture and microtexture after the continuous cyclic bending (CCB) and the subsequent annealing in sheets of an Al-4.7mass% Mg-0.7mass% Mn alloy have been investigated. The CCB has been recently proposed as a useful straining technique to produce the high strain on the surface and the lower strain in the central layer of the sheet. It is revealed that cube texture in the surface layer is sharpened remarkably during the CCB process and the annealing. The CCB passes lead to the sharper textures in all of the layers, especially in rolling direction. After annealing, marked development of the cube component appears in the surface layer. The sharpening of the cube texture is dependent upon the number of the CCB passes and annealing conditions.
