The Synthesis of Expressive Music: A Challenging CBR Application

This paper is based on an invited talk, given at ICCBR'01, about the research performed at the IIIA on the problem of synthesizing expressive music. In particular, describes several extensions and improvements of a previously reported system capable of generating expressive music by imitating human performances. The system is based on Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) and Fuzzy techniques.
