In any project, estimation of size and cost are considered as important characteristics to effectively utilize the resources. Function Point measure is used as an input to estimate the size of a project. Function Point counting procedure as per the conventional definition from the users point of view cannot be used to measure the functionality of the Object Oriented System. To discuss OO function points from designer's perspective, OO Design Function Points was defined. To calculate Object Oriented Design Function Point (OODFP), a counting procedure was explained by introducing an 'Attribute Reuse Factor by Inheritance'; thereby improving the counting procedure to obtain more accurate estimate of function points. This paper defines the Attribute Reuse Factor by Inheritance and shows that the incorporation of this factor enhances the accuracy of OODFP counting procedure. The impact of this factor in overall calculation of function points is discussed.
