First 20Gbit/s all optical wavelength conversion with an integrated active-passive Mach-Zehnder Interferometer and comparison with the similar all-active device

A new interferometric wavelength converter from an original active-passive technology is presented. High speed conversion capabilities are demonstrated, as for the similar all active device, by high bit rate penalty measurements. Their assets are discussed.
