Here are some questions that we as members of the non-destructive testing industry need to be aware of. Too many people in the NDT Community still do not understand the liabilities that exist. The regulations are constantly changing and a diligent effort must be put forth to stay informed of the latest information. This presentation is provided to make you aware of some important issues and provide some answers to routinely asked questions. The most obvious discipline that would require attention would be industrial radiography operations due to the use of radioactive materials and photo processing chemicals. The review of our individual operations however, should not be limited to this specific area. Through careful examination it becomes evident that hazardous materials can be found in many NDT operations.
