With it's creation, the program contains the following parameters and potentialities: 1. Versatility in respect to the radiation source. It includes the possibility to use more than one gamma source - 192 Ir or 60 Co, as well as industrial X-ray tubes. 2. Versatility in respect to the film system type - different producers with different sensometric characteristics (film systems classification according ASTM and CEN). 3. Flexibility - ability to change, at the calculations stage, the input data's and parameters, such as material thickness, source-to-film distance, exposure diagram and others. 4. Good visualization of the exposure diagrams recommended. The program provides good opportunities for fast optimal testing plan selection and for clarification in respect to all quantities used in the calculations. 5. Obligatory warnings and proposals in case of non-conformity of the radiographic technique selected with the standard requirements. In such cases the calculation ends nevertheless because the control is still possible by agreement between the parties. 6. As the density is a main and decisive factor for the sensitivity of the radiographic testing, the program allows a choice of the desired film density rate. A correction is possible for testing of materials, other than Fe. 7. Visualization of the relevant IQI type to fit the thickness has been foreseen, and also of the smaller visible element for the exposure diagram selected. 8. An automatic calculation of the radiation protection for the according source and the possible protection approaches - by time, distance and absorbing barriers (Fe, Pb, Concrete) -are set in the program. An option of source activity calculation in relation to a particular date has been provided. As a final element of the preliminary preparation, the software provides a short technical instruction with the calculation results. The novelty here is that the standard's requirements for the exposure diagrams selected are been printed out in parallel. This allows the operator to perform a comparison and an additional control.
