The distribution of refractory raw material resources, its throughput capacity, product varieties and quality as well as market situation in China were investigated. Refractory raw materials, which influence on the quality, properties and cost of the refractory products, are the basis of refractory development. It is proved that the progress of refractory is how to seek high purity raw materials and study its properties and utilize it. For refractory raw materials have been become the important ore products in the international trade market and they distributed unevenly in the world, so the research and development of the raw materials are attached very important attention in the world. In order to adjust the varieties and improve the quality of refractory products, some countries import refractory raw materials from other countries while using their native resources. Since China underwent reform and opening policy to the outside, especially the technology introduced into Baosteel, geological exploration, mining, process capacity, varieties, quality, application and export of China's raw refractory materials have progressed rapidly.
