EFFECT OF SAEMANGEUM TIDAL BARRIERS ON THE YELLOW SEA TIDAL REGIME

摘要

Saemangeum barrier project, presently being performed is one of Nation's controversial issues in Korea due to expected heavy pollution within the freshwater reservoir after completion. In this paper changes expected for tidal regime in outer barrier area are estimated using conventional hydrodynamic models. Some of preliminary results in terms of perturbations in existing tidal and sedimentation regimes are presented and discussions are made.
