Current Status of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Endoscopy for Pancreatic Disease in China

Through 30 years of clinical practice, great progress has been make in diagnostic/therapeutic endoscopy for pancreatic diseases in China, and we still have much work to do to catch up with the advanced level of the world. Diagnostic and therapeutic devices should be replaced and updated,more and better training be given to Chinese endoscopists, further clinical research be crried out...etc.We hope diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy for pancreatic diseases will be extended to other hospitals in China in the near future. Here I'd like to express our gratitude to the Hong Kong Societyof Digestive Endoscopy, and the Japanese Society of Digestive Endoscopy for their invaluable help to the Chinese Society of Digestive Endoscopy. We are particularly grateful to those endoscopists of world-renown for their excellent endoscopic live demonstration and hands-on training programs for our Chinese endoscopists.
