DANIELI CENTRO MASKIN' S IN-LINE INSPECTION AND CONDITIONING PROCESS FOR STANDARD AND HIGH QUALITY STAINLESS STEEL GRADES

The in-line inspection and conditioning process conceived and developed for AvestaPolarit AB, Avesta/Sweden back in 1995 is the first of its kind where grinding and surface conditioning are integrated with the continuous casting plant for the production of stainless steel slabs. The concept makes possible a continuous hot flow of material from the caster to the hot strip mill with exceptional results in terms of shorter lead time, higher productivity, reduction of process cost and enhanced product quality. Danieli Centro Maskin' s ' CASTTGRIND' (CAST-Temperature-GRINDing) process provides to the producer a formidable tool for the production of standard and high quality stainless steel grades with a just-in-time concept at a fraction of the standard production costs.
