One step synthesis of PhOH from benzene was performed by Eu-Ti-Pt-catalytic system with O_2 and H_2 at atmospheric pressure and 40degC. The best combination of the elements fro the hydroxylation of benzene was Eu(OTf)_3-TiO(acac)_2-Pt-oxide/SiO_2. The Eu~(3+)/Eu~2+ redox catalyses the reductive activation of O_2, which is enhanced by TiO(acac)_2. Pt-oxide/SiO_2 works as a catalyst for the reduction of Eu~(3+) to Eu~(2+) by H_2. The reductively activated oxygen by the concerted actions of the catalytic components is responsible for the hydroxylation of benzene to phenol.
