Within the framework of the structural integrity assessment of the French 900 MWe reactor pressure vessels, numerous developements have been conducted related to the methodology used for the mechanical analyses of shallow flaws druing a pressurized thermal shock (PTS) event. This extensive work includes the development of simplified approaches and some three-dimensional finite element computations.
