In this paper, experimental research is carried out in an attempt to study the protective ability of SiC ceramic matrix composite reinforced with three dimensional braided fabric(3D C/SiC) under hypervelocity impact. The fact shows that the protective ability of 3 D C/SiC composite is better than that of aluminum and 3 D C/SiC will be one of optimum structural material to protect spacecraft from space debris.
