BIGHORN GAS GATHERINGADDING VALUE THROUGH SYNERGY

The Bighorn Gas Gathering System is a major investment in gas gathering in the PowderRiver Basin. This facility allows for the transportation to market of coalbed methanereserves that previously have been uneconomic to develop due to lack of pipelines in thearea. CMS Energy, Inc. has purchased one-half interest in approximately 580,000 acresof coalbed methane drilling rights, and installed a pipeline network to produce and gathera portion of the vast reserves in the Basin.This paper discusses the development of the project, the construction of Phase I of thegathering system, the services offered, and the future expansions.
