The paper puts forward a new method that is used calculating performance of induction motors with a double-layer rotor. The new method centers on the numerical calculation of the eddy current field and centers attention on the numerical calculation of the electromagnetic torque. Based on solved electromagnetic torque value, the other performance of this motor can be solved easily. This method forsakes the equivalent-circuit theory that has bigger calculation error. It is more good for the design of the solid rotor motors. Compared with the equivalent-circuit method, the accuracy of the calculation is improved greatly.
