Improvement of anaerobic processes mixtures with elevated contents of lignin and extracts

An essay dealing with the production of biogas derived from the digestion of manure and its mixture with wood and bark was conducted. The raw material was sawdust and bark of Pinus caribaea, a species that is extensively planted in Venezuela, generating considerable amounts of sawdust and bark at the sawmills as waste material. This research analyzes the influence, on biogas production, using manure plus wood and manure plus bark mixtures, when NaOH or KOH are used to vary their pH.
