Power Generation in the 21st Century - The New European COST Action

摘要

The major challenge facing the power generation industry in the 21st century will be to achieve the targets for increased efficiencies required to meet stringent environmental regulations while ensuring plant reliability, availability, maintainability and cost are not compromised. Within Europe a new COST programme has been initiated to co-ordinate research activities in advanced materials technologies, lifing/methods development and monitoring techniques to meet this challenge over the next few years. This paper reviews the objectives of this five year COST programme, which started April 1998, describes the work programme being undertaken and the progress to date.
