Power Boiler Technology for a New Millennium Based on 70 Years of Continuous Development

摘要

This paper is a review of the development of modern fossil fired power boilers. It covers the period from 1930 to the present day, and looks at contemporary ideas which may be the adopted for future plants. It serves to highlight milestones in the evolution of boilers, which are regarded by the authors as significant from a number of viewpoints. In ever ycase they show how our predecessors approached the issues which faced them, an exercise which may help us today as we deal with the economic, technical and social pressures we see in developing designs for the new millennium.
