An approximate expression of the two-dimensional velocith field in a liquid rivulet of a flowing down thin film was developed using the Rit5z method and incorporated into the minimum total energy (MTE) criterion to calculate critical liquid film thickness (CLFT) and the corresponding minimum wetting rate (MWR).
