Demand for industrial fibers, is strongly related to the level of industrialisation and the GDP per capita. Consequently the highly industrialised triumvirate (NAFTA, Japan and W. Europe) consumes about 65percent of the global demand. Transport in general and the automotive industry in particular, are important users of industrial fibers. The reinforcement is with 55percent the most important single end - use. Technical fabrics rank second, followed by reinforcement of mechanical rubber goods, ropes, nets and sewing yarns.
