In recent years, proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) that is a way of power generation characterized by high efficiency and non-pollution develops very quickly. The paper investigates the hydrogen supply system of its small power source. Compared to other different methods of hydrogen storage, metal hydride storage is a better one. In the paper, some views on the design of metal hydride container are proposed. And some experiments on a LaNi_5 based metal hydride container were carried out, the results show that under different experimental conditions, there are different effects on hydrogen desorption, and it is poor under air convection. In the end, according to the character of small power source, some advice on the development of storage system is proposed.
