Jordan University of Science and Technology's Efforts to Ensure Safe and Secure Nuclear Infrastructure in Jordan

The Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) is home to the first nuclear engineering program in Jordan. JUST is also currently working to establish the first international INMM student chapter. This paper and subsequent presentation will highlight a several recent regional workshops and activities that JUST has participated in, as well as their current efforts in developing nuclear security-related curriculum and training. These efforts, plus the establishment of an INMM chapter in Jordan will help ensure that future scientists, technicians and engineers will be aware of their role in the establishment of a safe and secure nuclear infrastructure in Jordan. This presentation will discuss Jordan’s experiences related to curriculum development and INMM chapter establishment to date, as well as highlight areas for future activities related to nuclear safety and security.
