OBTENTION OF CARBONACEOUS ADSORBENTS FROM PYROLYZED SEWAGE SLUDGE

Industrialized societies and big metropolitan areas face the problem of processing and getting rid of thousands of tons of sewage sludge per day. Landfill, cropland application and incineration are the most extended methods of processing sewage sludge. Alternatively, pyrolysis of sewage sludge is now been considered as a low-impact environmental method of sewage sludge treatment. The possibility of using the carbonaceous residues obtained from the pyrolysis of sewage sludge as a "cheap" adsorbents was tested.
