Streamlining e-Business Performance Using Directory Technologies

e-business requirements and IP-based host access are changing the IT landscape. More and more users, business partners, customers, and customers of customers require access to legacy data. This paper discusses these new e-business requirements and the implications they have on IT organizations. A potential solution is presented that utilizes an existing industry standard directory where users are the managed entity rather than the data resources. A discussion follows that presents the advantages of the user-centric approach over traditional resource-centric practices.
