A study of the penetration resistance of titanium diboride using a new technique for time resolved terminal ballistic registrations

The penetration resistance of titanium diboride when attacked by tungsten long rod projectiles is studied by means of flash X-ray radiography and a new method for time-resolved measurement of the erosion of the projectile. The measurement technique is based on two resistance gauges mounted on the projectile using the shortening of the gauges as a measure of the projectile erosion.
