摘要

In response to the high cost and long cycle in die design and manufacture, this paper explores a flexible forming method--Multi-Point Forming(MPF) for sheet metal. Firstly principles of MPF are introduced. Based on the principles, MPF apparatus which can accomplish wholesheet MPF, Multi-Point Press Forming and sectional MPF for sheet metal is developed. Secondly the forming results by this method and MPF characteristics which is different from die forming is discussed. In Multi-Point Press Forming, deforming path can be controlled and deforming state can be optimized. With sectional MPF method, large sheet metal can be formed on small apparatus.
