A Mutual Authentication Protocol for Databases

The recent advances in the Information Technology have removed many of the physical barriers, which inhibited information flow in the past. Never had been information so readily available as it is now- just at the touch of the fingertip. However, as information around the globe, become more accessible, it has also become more vulnerable to misuse. Authenticating the identity of distributed databases as well the process accessing the database in the face of malicious active intruder is an exciting area of computer security. In this paper we present a protocol to mutually authenticate distributed databases to remote processes. Our proposal is based on the design principals of object oriented program and thus contains its own process encapsulating it and managing the overall security. In nutshell the processes are overall responsible for the database.
