Electronic Commerce (eCommerce), widely practiced in the world's financial markets, is already changing the manner in which many individuals conduct their daily business. Electronic banking, smart cards, credit cards verification and transfer of funds electronically are becoming standard features of our commercial landscape. However, eCommerce cannot realize its potential unless we have faith in its integrity, safety and reliability and a clear understanding of the underlying principles of these systems. In this paper, first we present an overview of different eCommerce solutions. We have classified these solutions, based on their features and cost, into three classes. The characteristics of each class will be discussed. Second, we introduce a set of criteria that can be used for evaluation of eCommerce products.
