A WEB SOLUTION CASE STUDY: TRANSLATING A TERMINAL-BASED SECURITIES TRADING SYSTEM ONTO THE WEB

Transaction Information Systems (TIS) was contracted by a New York City governmentsecurities settlement firm to design a Web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) for one of its tradingapplications. The brokers and dealers at the firm had been using a two-tone (green type on blackbackground), terminal-based user interface (UI) to perform all their job functions. The firm recentlydecided to translate this interface into a Web-based GUI. This poster describes the Web-specificchallenges TIS faced and how they were addressed in restructuring and redesigning the existing UI for theWeb.
