Model Testing in SUpport of Molikpaq Deployment at Sakhalin Isoand

Sakhalin Energy Investment Company has modified and depolyed the molikpaq as the first production unit in the Russian subarctic NE of Sakhalin Island. Four separate physical modeling programs were undertaken to define and assist in the modification of the structure. These programs included: Interaction of the Molikpaq with a submerged, rock-armored berm; Wave loading and wave run-up on the Molikpaq/Space; Design modifications required for to-side failities; and Optimization and construction of rock armor scour protection around the base of the Molikpaq/Spacer.
