Effect of drawing conditions on dimensional accuracy of compression coil springs

Although improvements in the dimensional accuracy of compression coil springs are in increasing demand, factors affecting it have not yet been clarified. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of drawing conditions on the dimensional accuracy of the free length of compression coil springs. It was found through experiments that the three-dimensional geometry of a die and twist of wire in drawing are improtant factors affecting the dimensional accuracy of springs.
