A Natural Fractionation processing plant has been simulated here. The process consists of five main trayed columns arranged in sequence. The simulation carried out here in HYSYS environment for the first time is checked against plant data and on average only 3 percent deviation is observed. The simulation is then used to assess the utility (Energy) consumption reduction as the propane and butane (the main plant products) are allowed to be produced less pure. Generally, reducing hot and cold utilities used in the seven reboilers and condensers can make keeping nearly a constant level of production considerable savings. This is economically of significant importance for the plant managers, as they are at times required to produce less pure products.
