The spatial development of a confined plane jet with co-flowing streams and with mean shear has been investigated with Large Eddy Simulatiosn (LES) and compared with experimental data. The main jet and the co-flowing streams are characterized by different length scales and levels of turbulent kinetic energies. In the numerical simulations a successfull attempt has been carried out to simulate realistically the effects of the honeycomb grids used in the experiment. It is sufficient to consider for the inflow condition a proper defect velocity behind all the walls of all the honeycomb ducts.
