This paper presents the results of a collaborative research effort to develop a technique for in-situ structural health monitoring of filament wound composite pressure vessels and rocket motorcases using embedded fiber optic sensor arrays. As part of this research, Fiber Bragg Grating sensor arrays were embedded in filament wound composite pressure vessels to measures internal strain during curing and pressurization.
