A new method of distributing the precision of a simulation system with HWIL (hardware-in-the-loop) for infrared imaging homing missile is proposed, based on the sensitivity of the system simulative precision to the equipment errors and the total system cost. It is given in this paper the dominant factors which influence the system simulative precision, considerations of calculating sensitivities, the calculational relationship between system cost and equipment error, and a method of distributing the system precision optimally. The method can be aplied to optimal distribution of other simulation systems with HWIL for other homing missile, especially for Infrared Imaging systems.
