RESEARCH ON EXPANSION TECHNOLOGY OF AMMONIUM NITRATE

摘要

Expanded AN, a new kind of powdered industry explosive based on innovative technology of expansion, has been awarded national prize and list into plan of Spreading Great Scientific Achievement of China Ninth-fire-year Plan. It has now manufactured in more than 60 factories in China. Owing to its application, the national output value has increased for 660 million Chinese Yuan and profit including tax has increased for 115 million Chinese Yuan until 1998. The guideline of innovation is self-sensitization of AN. It is a breakthrough for classic method, The approach to self-sensitization is expansion of AN, and essence of expansion is surface activity technique, a physical chemical process under composite surfactant's action. In this paper, the machanism and technical characteristics of expansion is discussed, its unique advantage is showed. Some data about rock expanded AN explosive and its comparison with other industry explosive are given. The expansion technology is mainly applied in rock explosive and permitted explosive. Expanded AN explosives with low detonation velocity or high strength are now under research.
