Anisotropic elastic properties of cancellous bone froma human edentulous mandible

Little is known about the material properties of cancellous bone is the human mandible. Bone mass and volume fraction have been reported for dentate and edentulous mandibles (Wovern, 1977a; Ulm et al., 1997), but no elastic constants have been reported for cancellous bone in the mandible.
