Stratigraphic features such as fluid contacts, geological markers and reservoir target boundaries are key driling markers for placing a well. Determinig the position of a wellbore relative to these stratigratphic features, at a range to 20 meters, above and below a deviated vellbore, has been a major goal for "Tieing-in" to a reservoir model while drillig. Acquirig, processing raw data, and identifying these features at this range in a measurement while drilling(MWD) tool in real time has not been possible with existing MWD Formation Evaluation and geo-steering systems.
