The muon g-2 experiment (E821) at BNL AGS requires the knowledge of the magnetic field over the muon storage ring orbit at the level of 0.1 ppm (uniformity to 1 ppm). The SC inflector involves a double cosine theta winding in order to essentially limit its fringe field in the muon storage region. To further reduce the residual field, a multilayer SC shield is mounted surrounding the inflector. The research and fabrication process is described. The testing results on superconducting performance and field measurement (by using NMR) are presented.
