We present a radio-echo sounding (RES) survey for the estimation of the ice thickness of the principal Spanish Pyrenean temperate glaciers, Aneto and La Maladeta. These glaciological studies are part of the ERHIN program. We carried out these measurements using a UHF radar with a 700 MHz central frequency. We mapped the bedrocks of these glaciers and found that the maximum ice thickness is 52 metres, in agreement with a previous result obtained by the seismic reflection method. In addition, we have registered internal reflectors in both glaciers. This geophysical technique has proven useful for determining the best possible drilling site.
